Athens Classic Marathon
There is something magic about finishing a marathon in a stadium. In Athens it is made more special because this one was built for the first modern Olympics in 1896 - and there has been a stadium on the site since 330BC.
The Panathinaikon Stadium marks the end of a historic run from the ancient city of Marathon to Athens, following the route of the legendary foot soldier who ran the distance to spread a message of victory in battle against the Persians.
Next year Athens will celebrate the 2500th anniversary of that first incredible run.

Running feet and chatting voices were the only sounds to be heard on Sydney Harbour Bridge as vehicles vanished for the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival.
More than 30,000 participated in the run for everyone, tackling distances from marathon and half marathon down to 10km and 5km – all finishing in front of the iconic Sydney Opera House.
Sydney turned on some of its finest spring weather for the day and participants enjoyed the chance to run on traffic-free roads around the city’s glorious harbour and prettiest scenery.
There is something appealing about Sydney and the Running Festival provided a chance to see some of its best features at a pleasant pace on a perfect day.

P F Chang's Rock 'n' Roll
Arizona Marathon & 1/2 Marathon
Arizona kicked off the 2010 Rock 'n' Roll series in spectacular style with two of the biggest names in U.S. distance running history who took to the roads in the “Valley of the Sun” for the seventh P.F. Chang’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon and Half Marathon. Olympians Deena Kastor and Ryan Hall made their 2010 racing debuts in the half-marathon where they each hold the U.S. record for the 13.1-mile distance.
More than 32,000 runners participated in the largest same day marathon and half-marathon in the United States. Live bands, cheer squads and themed water stations added inspiration to every mile as runners passed through the scenic cities of Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tempe.

Challenge Wanaka
New Zealand’s own Richard Ussher showed determination and resilience to win the Challenge Wanaka triathlon in a record time of 8:34:41 - slashing 3 minutes off the previous record. Now in its fourth year, Challenge Wanaka added a half ironman distance this year, which proved popular with athletes.
This is the world’s most scenic iron distance triathlon, taking place around the shores of Lake Wanaka, in the shadow of the spectacular Southern Alps.
