  • Brighton Marathon Brighton Pavilion is just one of the spectacular sights to be enjoyed in this popular seaside marathon. Much of the route follows the coast and the finish on Madeira Drive isn't far from famous Brighton Pier.

  • Freiburg Marathon The promotion said Run & Rock in Freiburg - so some dressed for the occasion and enjoyed their race all the way. Bands played along the route and thousands enjoyed their run in perfect spring weather.

  • Hong Kong Marathon Another successful year for Hong Kong as thousands turned up to run one of three distances. Event entries sold out in just three hours and organisers expect demand to keep growing as running grows in popularity.

  • KARAPOTI CLASSIC Climbing the Devil's Staircase is not a place to look up in this popular 50km mountain bike event. The 2km climb through dense bush is so steep in places that huge steps have been cut out of the track and bikes must be carried.

  • ATHENS CLASSIC MARATHON Finishing a historic run in an equally historic stadium is a thrill. This particular run, from Marathon to Athens, dates back 2500 years and the original Panathinaiko Stadium was even older.

  • Gsiesertal Lauf Depending on your language, it's the Gsiesertal Lauf or Gran Fondo Val Casies. It's a fabulous cross-country ski event in the South Tyrol that attracts participants from all over the world and is now into its 4th decade.

  • RICHMOND RUNNING FESTIVAL Imagine running through London’s famous Kew Gardens, alongside the River Thames, past green fields and stately homes. This new event has all the best of British charm just a short distance from the city.

  • JUNGFRAU MARATHON Climbing 1823m over 42km is challenging at times – but the views are stunning. This race is run in full view of the famous Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains in the Swiss Alps. In a word; spectacular.

  • PRUHEALTH WORLD TRIATHLON GRAND FINAL LONDON Elite women dive into the Serpentine in London’s Hyde Park to start their ITU World Triathlon Grand Final. More than 830 international athletes vied for titles over 5 days of competition.

  • PRUDENTIAL RIDELONDON-SURREY 100 An Olympic Games legacy saw some 20,000 cyclists fill the roads between London and Surrey in a 100-mile ride taking in glorious scenery, iconic landmarks and finishing in the Mall.
