  • Great Wall Marathon Hitting the wall has new meaning when it's this event in China's Tianjin province. With 5164 steps across history and a scenic route through rural villages, this is an adventure marathon worth running.

  • Gsiesertal Lauf Perfect snow conditions made the Gsiesertal cross country ski marathon a huge success. Skiers from 34 nations including Bahamas and Malaysia gathered in South Tyrol to compete in distances of 3km, 5km, 30km and 42km.

  • Challenge Wanaka Colourful Jack McKenzie competes in what has been described as one of the most beautiful iron distance triathlons in the world. 2013 was the 7th Challenge Wanaka event held in New Zealand's South island.

  • Highland Fling A challenging course through rugged Australian bush and countryside. Now in its 8th year, the Fling has something for everyone and is also Australia's Mountain Bike Marathon Championship race.

  • Frankfurt Marathon 16,000 runners were glad that on marathon day, the cold snowy weather of the day before had given way to blue sky and sunshine. Their race ended on the famous red carpet inside the Festhalle.

  • ITU SERIES GRAND FINAL Such was the success of this event that New Zealand will now host the first round of the World Series triathlon contest in Auckland for the next four years. Athletes called it true triathlon.

  • Army Ten Miler The Army Ten-Miler is produced by the U.S. Army Military District of Washington (MDW) this prestigious race attracts more than 30,000 military and civilian runners from around the world.

  • Dresden Marathon Baroque buildings, a picturesque river and beautiful parks feature in this city marathon. Dresden was rebuilt after World War II and runners enjoy a sight-seeing tour through its prettiest parts.

  • Munich Marathon Bavaria's capital has scenery and atmosphere for a memorable marathon but the finish is the highlight – run through a curtain of mist, music and lights to end with a lap of the Olympic Stadium.

  • Jungfrau Marathon To celebrate 20 years, the marathon was held on Saturday and Sunday in some of Europe's most spectacular scenery. Sunshine and warm weather were a bonus in a run which challenges all entrants.
